FM-Briquetting system

Briquetting presses for aluminium

The economic and environmental benefits are particularly high in the foundry and aluminum industries. A return on investment for the briquetting plant within 8–12 months is not uncommon.

Example: Aluminum

During aluminum machining, chips containing high-quality coolants and lubricants are removed. Briquetting these chips squeezes out the coolants and lubricants, which can then be pumped directly back into the existing system. Separating the coolants and lubricants reduces the transport weight and prevents unnecessary environmental pollution from liquid loss. Briquetting results in a significant volume reduction of the starting material, ranging from 7:1 to 20:1. These compact, solid briquettes lower transport costs due to high container utilization. Melting results in less loss (approximately 3–5%) because the briquette shape has a smaller surface area than loose chips (approximately 25–30%). The additional revenue from selling the briquettes to aluminum smelters is approximately CHF 400 per 1000 kg.

Your benefit:

Reduced storage space due to volume reduction.
Reduction of transport and handling costs.
Increased security.
Additional revenue from recycling (metal).
Saving on high-quality coolants and lubricants.
